  1. What kinds of information are available under the BRAVO system?
  2. The information available in the BRAVO system are (i) the latest approved plans, structural calculations and related documents of completed building and Minor Works projects in private buildings* and (ii) the latest submitted plans and details of CLASS I & CLASS II Minor Works, the latest submitted plans or description of CLASS III Minor Works, photos and related documents of completed Minor Works under the simplified requirements in the private buildings*. (*Excluding pre-war buildings, exempted houses in the New Territories and previous Housing Authority buildings sold or disposed of to the private sector such as home ownership scheme buildings, tenants purchase scheme buildings and Link properties.) Please refer to the Building and Minor Works Records under the Important Notices in Term and Condition.
  3. Where can I view the electronic form of building records and Minor Works records?
  4. You may access the BRAVO system via the Internet for viewing the building records and Minor Works records and place order for copy at any place and any time. Alternatively, you may also visit our Building Information Centre (BIC) for viewing the building records and Minor Works records during the opening hours of BIC. Please refer to "Building Information Centre" in "About us" under BD website for the opening hours of BIC (https://www.bd.gov.hk/en/about-us/building-information-centre/index.html).
  5. How can I become a registered user?
  6. You have to register as a User before you can inspect plans or documents on this system or place orders for hardcopies of the selected plans and documents. You can apply for registration as a User by the following means:
  7. Applicable to Registration as Individual and Company Users
    1. By filling and returning the application form (Form BIC5) with a copy of your Hong Kong Identity Card / Passport / Identity Card issued by a Government Authority outside Hong Kong (for individual user registration) or a copy of valid business / branch registration certificate (for company user registration) to the Building Information Centre (BIC) of the Buildings Department by post, fax, email, e-submission or by hand. The application form (Form BIC5) can be downloaded from the website of the Buildings Department (https://www.bd.gov.hk). Upon approval, the login details will be sent to your registered email address.
    2. By online user registration. After gaining access to the BRAVO system (https://bravo.bd.gov.hk), please select Online Registration, complete the e-application form, attach copy of Hong Kong Identity Card / Passport / Identity Card issued by a Government Authority outside Hong Kong (for individual user registration) or a copy of valid business / branch registration certificate (for company user registration) and submit the completed e-application form via the Internet. Upon checking the e-application form is completed and the required documents are being attached, the login details and an authentication code will be sent to your registered email address. After account activation, you can then login to the BRAVO system.
  8. Applicable to Registration as Individual User
    1. By online registration via "iAM Smart". After gaining access to the BRAVO system (https://bravo.bd.gov.hk), please select "Login with iAM Smart", follow the instruction as shown on your devices for accessing BRAVO/ with "iAM Smart" mobile application installed and BRAVO will direct you to a new page stating that "You are the first time to login BRAVO via iAM Smart". Please further click on "Online Registration", follow the instruction to grant consent for providing your personal information from "iAM Smart", complete and submit the e-application form via the Internet. As your verified personal information stored in "iAM Smart" has been retrieved for registration of BRAVO account, no further submission of identity proof documents will be required. Upon completion of registration, the login details and an authentication code will be sent to your registered email address. After account activation, you can then login to the BRAVO system.
  9. If I am a holder of "iAM Smart" account, do I still have to register as a BRAVO user for gaining access to the BRAVO system?
  10. In order to log into the BRAVO system with "iAM Smart" account, for security reason, user must link up the "iAM Smart" account with a registered BRAVO account first. If the BRAVO account is not available yet, you need to register a new BRAVO account during the first time login with "iAM Smart" account.
  11. How can I remove the linkage between "iAM Smart" account and my BRAVO account?
  12. You can remove the linkage in BRAVO on your own. Go to "Menu" of the navigation toolbar as shown in BRAVO’s main page, select "My Account" and then "Account Information", tick the checkbox "Check to delink" and click the "Submit" button to confirm removal. Once delinked, you can only log in to BRAVO via https://bravo.bd.gov.hk by the login name and password of your BRAVO account. However, you can link up the "iAM Smart" account with BRAVO again through the option of "Login with iAM Smart" on the login page.
  13. What can I do if I want to change my personal particulars?
  14. You can change the personal particulars such as mailing address, telephone no. and fax no. in BRAVO on your own. Go to "Menu" of the navigation toolbar as shown in BRAVOs main page, select "My Account" and then "Account Information", click "Submit" button after filling the updated personal information to confirm the change. Alternatively, you may report to us by returning the completed reporting form (Form BIC6) to the Building Information Centre of the Buildings Department by post, fax or in person. The reporting form can be downloaded from this website by clicking "Forms" under "Menu" of the navigation toolbar.
  15. What should I fill-in in the "Declaration of Applicant"?
  16. In the Declaration, you should declare the purpose of inspecting records and ordering copies. All information obtained from the system shall not be used for any purpose other than the purpose as specified.
  17. What should I do if I cannot find the building(s) in the BRAVO system?
  18. Please try all the searching parameters for searching the building and Minor Works records in the BRAVO system. If the building still cannot be found, you may wish to check whether the building in question is a private building issued with Occupation Permit by the Buildings Authority. Some of the building or Minor Works records being kept by BD might be available in paper form. You are welcome to approach our Building Information Centre for assistance or send in your application for inspection of the building or Minor Works records. The application form (Form BIC1) can be downloaded from both BD website (https://www.bd.gov.hk) and this website by clicking "Forms" under "Menu" of the navigation toolbar.
  19. Do I have to pay for the services provided by the BRAVO system?
  20. Yes. In order to recover the cost of services, separate fees will be charged for both viewing and/or printing of building records and Minor Works records. [Please click "Fees" under Menu for the schedule of fee payments.]
  21. How often will the records be updated?
  22. We strive to include all the newly completed building and Minor Works projects as soon as possible.
  23. What can I do if I have lost my login name?
  24. Please contact Building Information Centre at tel. 2626 1207 (Handled by 1823). However, if your BRAVO account has been linked up with "iAM Smart", you can log in instantly to BRAVO through "iAM Smart".
  25. Are there any delivery services available for issue of copies of documents available in BRAVO system?
  26. Yes, delivery services are available. In the process of placing copy order, you can select "By Courier" among the methods of collection as provided in the BRAVO system. Building Information Centre will arrange delivery of the ordered copies to the local address in Hong Kong provided by the requestor, except for GPO box, Closed Area, Lantau Island and Outlying Islands.
  27. Why is there no Chinese version for the building plans and documents?
  28. The electronic records of the building plans and documents in this web site were scanned from the original hardcopy submitted by the Authorized Person / Registered Structural Engineer / Registered Geotechnical Engineer / Prescribed Registered Contractor for the purpose of the Buildings Ordinance. They are provided AS IS.
  29. How can I pay on Internet?
    1. You can pay on Internet by using PPS service. You must open an Internet PPS Account beforehand at any nearby PPS Registration Terminal and obtain an 8-digit Internet PPS Account Number and password for making PPS payment on-line.
    2. You can also pay by credit card online (Visa/ Master Card/ JCB/ Union Pay).
  30. Is there any time limit for inspection of building records and Minor Works records or purchase of copies of these records on BRAVO?
  31. Upon payment of the prescribed fee, you will be permitted to inspect the selected file(s) for each and every application within 72 hours of the allotted time slot and you may also place order for copies of records during such time slot.

  1. What are the system requirements for using BRAVO?
  2. The HTML 5 standard has been applied to the webpages on BRAVO Homepage, and users can access them with any browser that complies with the standard. But exactly how a webpage is displayed differs between browsers, computers and operating systems.

  15. Can the system function properly when a new operating system or browser is released?
  16. When a new operating system or browser is released to the public, the Government needs to conduct compatibility tests to ensure proper function of the online services on the new operating system or browser. When compatibility issues arise, we may need to modify the online services. The whole process of modification and testing may take a few months to complete.
  17. Other settings required?
  18. Firewall Settings
    1. Since all SSL applications must be running via port "443" at firewall level, you have to ensure your installed firewall does not restrict the use of port "443". If you are trying to access this service at your office network, you may have to consult your technical department.
  19. Pop-Up Blocker
    1. Since this service is running on pop-up window, you must ensure your browser does not suppress pop-up windows.
  20. Why do I sometimes get a blank page of a “Error 500” message?
  21. This might happen occasionally when the Internet traffic is too busy. Please try again. If this happens frequently, please consider waiting for an hour to two before retrying.
  22. I always receive the pop-up screens warning me about security. How should I get rid of it?
  23. BRAVO online services make use of certificates issued by the Hongkong Post. You should configure your browser to recognise certificates issued by the Hongkong Post. Please visit the following page to download and install the Hongkong Post Root CA Certificates as illustrated below.
